Organic farming, gives amazing
ingredients and great taste…

It all started in Dyrehaven north of Copenhagen in Denmark. For our restaurant Piil & Co we were searching for the best rhubarb. The choice was obvious and logical. We chose the “Svendborg” rhubarb from the danish farmer Michael Balle.

Michael Balle has been an organic Farmer since 1998. “Svendborg” is a old Danish organic rhubarb sort, which is probably among the world’s absolute best because of the great taste and its deep red colour. By hand Michael harvests 600 tons of this wonderful rhubarb annually. Even those who have never before tasted rhubarb loves it.
